FOCUS ON, COULISSE.
Hi There, šš» iām Andrea a fashion graphic designer focused on fashion product design for menswear and sportswear. Through this blog I want to share highlights and tips from the field i work in. Hope you enjoy and feel free to get in touch!
In recent collections, ribbons and drawstrings have quickly taken on a very important role in the world of clothing, becoming one of those details that manage to change the way a garment looks without being invasive or overly recognizable.
This type of accessory follows the macro sportswear market trend that has influenced most products and brands in recent years.
There are different types of drawstrings in both from natural (cotton, organic cotton, wool, silk, linen) or synthetic materials (polyester, recycled polyester, cotton polyester, high tenacity nylon, polyamide, recycled polyamide and chenille) but also different shapes and finishes.
One category in particular has managed to combine this more or less creative detail is pants.
A lot of brands have included models with comfort fabrics or not but with this detail, which makes the product immediately contemporary and modern.
Another key element of drawstrings is the finial, the final part of the cord that can be closed with metal, polyester or natural materials such as horn or wood tips or even with special processing such as vulcanization.
This detail can become a creative and recognizable element more than the drawstring itself, thanks to the different colors or combinations that can be combined.
